What are your hobbies?

my hobbies are martial arts, reading huge books, cooking, computers.

My hobbies are officially "too many to list", but here goes:

1. Reading just about anything and everything
2. Writing (both short stories, and a longer novel, poetry, silly bits like "Periphery Papers" and anything else that strikes my fancy)
3. Performance (singing) anything from Italian Madrigals to heavy metal (though I prefer folk, country, blues, swing and rock)
4. Bead-stringing and design (necklaces, bracelets and anklets)
5. Crocheting (blankets and scarves)
6. Drawing/sketching (pencil, pen and ink)
7. Calligraphy
8. Architectural design (casual interest)

Additional interests:
9. SWORDS, knives, edged weapons of all kinds
10. Martial arts
11. Horses
12. Landscaping
13. Office layout for maximizing work potential


Erm...okay, I get tired just looking at all that!

i like all kinds of bladed weapons to. also bowstaff, nu- chaku or (nun chucks), club, ground fighting, sparring. KUNG FU in particular. ill read all kinds of fantasy books and non fiction like Micheal Chrichton, harry potter, older fantasy novel. i love rpg games, turn based, tower defence, ummm zoo tycoon, WoW, um there is a new game coming out named spores. it where you build your own planet and your own alien race and the vehicle, buildings, spaceships, pretty much anything. i love to play the Wii, prince of persia guitar hero!!!!!!! um thats everything i think???

Older fantasy novels? Like what? What style/genre do you enjoy most? Which authors?

If you like Scifi (and aren't too young), I'd recommend Joan DeVinge's "Psion", "Catspaw" and "Dreamfell" (the Cat Triology)
If you like dystopias, I'd recommend The Hungry City Chronicles
If you like Fantasy (and don't mind assassins), I'd recommend Steven Brust's "Jhereg" (Vlad Taltos series)
If you like Fantasy (and prefer elves), I'd recommend J.R.R. Tolkien's famous triology, plus the new "Children of Hurin" edited by his son Christopher.
If you like Fantasy (and prefer magic and dragons), I'd recommend Ursula K. Leguin's Wizard of Earthsea series
If you like Fantasy (but prefer human beings in fantastical situations), I'd recommend anything by Madeleine L'Engle: "A Swiftly Tilting Planet" is excellent, as well as her other books in the same series.
If you like fiction (human beings in NORMAL situations that have got out of hand), I'd also recommend M.E.'s "The Young Unicorns".


THEN, there's humor! Hehehe...if you want any more recommendations, ask me. I wouldn't want to slam you with 500 titles at once! lol (Douglas Adams and Eoin Colfer immediately spring to mind!)

havent heard of those authors before but i will certainly look at em. ty. but i read harry potter, the sword of truth series, all kinds of stuff like that. umm the eragon triliogy or as proberly named the inheritance series.
